How did the North Bay fires in October affect the Tomales community? How did we do and what can we learn?
On Sunday, Jan 21, the all-volunteer Tomales Emergency Response Network (TERN) will host a town-wide meeting to discuss what we as a community can do to respond more effectively in future disaster scenarios.
As we discovered in October, in the event of an emergency, community members will be on the front lines first, stepping up to respond — whether we’ve planned for it or not! It could be days or even weeks before professional responders arrive.
A little time spent strategizing with friends and neighbors now could make all the difference, especially during critical first minutes.
